TurkcellCase study

This or That? Customers vote, and sales follow.

Turkcell turned device promotions into an interactive vote across 1,300+ stores, the web, and social. Customers picked which of two devices should go on sale, and the choices drove both engagement and real sales.

01Challenge

Boost device sales with a campaign people want to join.

Turkcell wanted to lift in-store and online device sales with an innovative campaign that actively pulled customers in rather than talking at them.

A passive promotion would not move the numbers. The model had to make customers part of the campaign, with interactive screens in the brick-and-mortar stores turning a routine visit into active participation.

02Solution

One interactive vote, across store, web, and social.

OmmaSign ran a single 'This or That?' vote everywhere customers met the brand: the Turkcell website, social platforms, and physical screens in over 1,300 stores.

How it worked

  • 1

    Vote on the in-store screen

Purpose-built software let customers pick which of two devices should get the discount, turning the display into an active part of the campaign.

  • 2

    Opt in for the alert

After voting, customers could share their mobile number to get an SMS the moment their chosen device went on sale.

  • 3

    Managed from one CMS

A content management system tracked every selection in real time, giving Turkcell live insight into preferences and control over the campaign.

03Result

Over 1.29 million votes, and a 55% jump in sales.

The campaign proved popular enough to run four times, and the engagement translated straight into commercial results.

Across its runs, 'This or That?' gathered a remarkable 1,297,065 votes. Product groups grew 7.93%, and product sales rose by a striking 55%.

The outcome showed how an interactive, digitally driven campaign can lift the customer experience and drive sales at the same time, across a whole retail network rather than a single flagship store.

Why it worked

Letting customers decide the discount made them invested in the outcome. The vote earned attention, the SMS opt-in carried the moment to their phones, and the CMS turned every choice into usable data.

1,297,065 votes, +7.93% product-group growth, and a 55% rise in sales, from an in-store vote customers actually wanted to join.
